The program focuses on mainstreaming girls towards education. In the area of gender, there is a related challenge to moving from parity to equality. The Urja program focuses on the goal of gender equality.
Under Ramagya Foundation, we work for Girls who are in adolescent age and left their education in their early school days but now look forward to being a part of knowledge-based employment generation program. We do the need assessment for these girls and prepare them for a future vocation.
In the Urja program, we also identify gender-related issues and look for suitable measures for the same. We influence change by empowering teachers, especially women teachers and also by involving mothers of the children of Ramagya Foundation in the decision-making process, re-conceptualizing learning through gender-sensitive targeting and by intervening in social spaces to influence change in the life of girls.
